Position Summary:

Cricket Forge is looking for an Abrasive Blasting and Coating Technician. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring metal products are blasted and/or coated to proper specifications, and meet established standards. Position will offer the opportunity to learn the steel shot-blasting process and zinc flame-spray coating on mild steel products. This is an entry-level position, though experienced individuals are also encouraged to apply.

Specific Responsibilities:

• Individual will be trained to understand the process and its requirements, with a knowledge of how the blasting media abrades surfaces to remove adhering scale, paint, rust, and dirt to meet the specified finish for final coating or painting
• Operate machinery, including but not limited to:
• Schmidt blast pot and nozzle, WireJet 96 metallizing gun, Supplied air system, Sandblasting cabinet, air compressors, dust collector, pneumatic grinding tools.
• Maintenance of all equipment including personal safety equipment. Assembly and disassembly of equipment. Cleanliness of work area.
• Must be able to work in noisy, high and low temperature conditions
• Inspect products for defects
• Ability to lift product onto dollies to move to appropriate areas
• Review daily schedule requirements to determine priorities
• Assist with other projects or responsibilities, as assigned with a potential for onsite or field work 
• Repetitive lifting (up to 75 lbs), stooping, reaching, pulling, standing, pushing, and grasping are required
• Must be a person of passion and integrity who has the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results
• Highly qualified candidates will also possess:
• Experience in a metal-coating production facility

Position Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED equivalency
• Must follow all safety guidelines and practices while operating equipment.
• Motivated to meet daily production schedule goals. Must exhibit a professional demeanor, creative problem-solving, strong work ethic, and have an excellent attendance record.
• Ability to read measurements correctly is critical.

Work Environment

This position is based in a warehouse and manufacturing setting. While performing the duties of this job, the team member is frequently required to have the following capabilities. Additional Information:

This is a full-time (32 hour week) contract position that will start at a rate commensurate with experience. 

Schedule:

• 8 A.M. to 5 P.M. (lunch 12:30 – 1:30pm)
• Monday - Thursday  
• Fridays may be offered or requested, depending on workload.
